Rocco Williams- Instructional Designer with Technology

The title of Instructional Designer with Technology does a good job of conveying my beliefs and passion for education. The word "Instructional" lays the foundation of all learning. At it's most basic form, teachers deliver instruction to students. The part I enjoy most is figuring out how to do that. That's where the "Designer" aspect comes in. In order for instruction to be of high quality, there must be a high quality plan in place. Designing lessons and content has consistently been a creative outlet for me as a professional. I always look for a better way to deliver a lesson in order to help my students understand. The last component of my title is "Technology." I believe that there has never been a more exciting time to live in than this one. The amount of information that is available to so many people is astounding. I get excited about new developments in technology and instantly start thinking about how I can incorporate them into my teaching. Almost every single industry has been transformed by technology, and I don't see education as being immune to this trend.
Our Philosophy
I adopted the educational philosophy of being a "Facilitator of Hope" early on in my career. While the original intent was motivated by the work I was doing with students, it has extend to my work with adults. I believe that if we are truly believe that we can grow up to be whatever we want, education is the vehicle to take us there. Sometimes we are already grown up before we realize what we have a passion for. Nevertheless, education is still the means in which to turn that passion into a career.
Our History
History:
Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, I graduated Illinois State University and got my bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 2007.
I began my teaching career as a 5th grade science and social studies teacher on the Southeast Side of Fort Worth. After six years of being in classroom I became an instructional coach for the Fort Worth ISD in Elementary Science. I currently am an instructional coach stationed at Atwood McDonald Elementary.

I received my Masters Degree in Instructional Design with Technology from the American College of Education in 2016.
